Leveraging Purpose and Passion in the Workplace

In the flagship workshop that put PLC on the map, participants explore the impact of purpose and passion on individual and organizational results. Participants complete Passion Profiler™ assessments prior to the session. Then, during the one-day, introductory workshop (and optional next-day coaching session), a certified Passion Profiler ™ expert meets with individuals to interpret their results and help them understand how to utilize the findings. The workshop also educates participants on strategies to leverage the passions of a team to achieve results.

The focus of the afternoon includes a customized review of critical business strategies and identification of key skills and passions required to achieve them. When combining and leveraging employee skills and passions, organizations are able to shift performance from good to great because employees understand their unique contributions to desired goals.

To embed the workshop learning and provide a roadmap for ongoing development, participants create a Leveraging Passion Action Plan, which details specific steps they will take to apply their newly defined passions to ongoing objectives, both professional and personal.

 

Leading With Purpose™

The Leading With Purpose™ Workshop, a three-day advanced program for your organization’s top talent, explores in-depth the purposes and passions of each individual leader and how those align with your organization’s purpose and goals for growth. We examine all the aspects of management impacted by passion, including (but not limited to):

  • Recruitment
  • Selection and placement
  • Development
  • Succession planning
  • Talent management
  • Team development

Each participant will complete The Passion Profiler™, then review and interpret their comprehensive results with a Passion Profiler™ facilitator. In these one-on-one coaching sessions, individuals learn how to utilize the findings, understand what elements of their passions can be fulfilled in their current work and make meaningful decisions about how they will contribute to your organization’s strategic growth. Participants incorporate these insights into a Purpose-Linked Development Plan, a roadmap with example actions to guide leaders as they align their passions and jobs. This can be incorporated with existing company employee development plans or used as a stand-alone tool.

Building Passionate Teams

Considerable research has shown that 55% of today's employees are unsatisfied at work, leading to decreased engagement and productivity. The potential impact of worker apathy is significant for every organization, as it is for the national economy. Recent estimates show that employee disengagement costs America $350 billion annually in lost productivity — and results in other countries are even more disturbing. Imagine its impact on your organization.

Building Passionate Teams is a two-day workshop for leaders in which participants will discover their own passions and learn how to create a culture for employee passions to flourish, leading to an enhanced level of discretionary effort and job satisfaction. The workshop utilizes a proprietary online tool, the Passion Profiler™ that:

  • Identifies and measures work-related passions;
  • Identifies the passion styles that participants are using at work;
  • Quantifies respondent affiliation with the organization;
  • Measures respondent propensity for reflective thinking and meaning making;
  • Identifies the impact of specific passions on the generation and utilization of organizational knowledge for problem solving and strategy setting.

Participants will receive results in the form of a 25-page Comprehensive Passion Profile Analysis.

The workshop will explore the current research on employee engagement, work happiness and thriving. Using what they have learned from the research and their own feedback, participants will examine their own leadership style-- including their strengths, vulnerabilities, values and passions-- in order to build a Personal Leadership Plan to enhance team engagement and results. Not only will participants study the passion archetype composition of effective teams, they will examine the alignment of passions with roles within their own teams and define the passion characteristics of their company's culture. Through a strategic analysis of their own team members, participants will be supported in creating a Team Transformation Action Plan that can be implemented in their respective work environments.

Pre-work:

Prior to the workshop, participants and their teams will complete the Passion Profiler™ online. Participant direct reports will also complete the Inspiration Continuum

Analysis for his or her manager and return their confidential input to Purpose Linked Consulting for analysis and compilation. Participants will work extensively with results from these two tools throughout the program.
